Misanthropy Promotions.

Misanthropy is a homegrown new promotions initiative based in Manchester. The brainchild of Rachel Emms, we aim to keep it simple, and are driven by our love of the strange and heavy to bring you great bands from all over the country, on a not-for-profit basis.

It’s been a while.

We’ve neglected this page somewhat since the the Latitudes gig in March, but we’ve been insanely busy since…

The Latitudes gig was an incredible night to say the least. We packed the room out and both Bast and Collusion were fantastic supports. Definitely keep your eyes on these guys. Latitudes also went down a storm and we have every intention of putting them on again.

Following this we set about sorting another show for October, this time headlined by The Mire, with support from Collusion and Spires. Again, unbelievable line up and an intense night.

And while all this was going on we’ve been organising a blinder for next week. We’ve secured Ageless Oblivion, Necrotize and Betraeus. We’ve not gone down the death metal route until now so we’re pretty excited to be working on something a little different! This show’s on December 17th, be sure to check out the flyer uploaded below.

We’re also working on something mental for March next year, although that’s in the very early stages.

Many thanks to all of our two or three followers on here ;)

Not long now…

With gig time fast approaching we’ve been working exceptionally hard with promotions. Manchester is pretty much covered with Misanthropy posters and flyers, which look marvellous might I add.

On another note, we’ve had a lot of interest for the next gig. If you’re in a band and fit our ethos, we would love to hear from you. Send messages to: misanthropymusic@hotmail.com

We have some very exciting ideas ourselves so keep your eyes peeled after March…

Looking forward to seeing you scallies on March 19th, don’t forget you can acquire £5 advance tickets from Obscure Clothing in Affleck’s Palace. Alternatively, send a message to the above e-mail address and we’ll arrange something.

First gig of 2011…

19th MARCH 2011

LATITUDES ~ (www.myspace.com/latitudesm
usic)
Beautiful yet brutal metal; a unique, outstanding new presence on the post-metal landscape.
Their first full length LP ‘Agonist’, produced by Chris Fielding (Electric Wizard, Napalm Death) is available now on shelsmusic and has been described as-

“…breathtaking… 8/10” - Rock Sound

“Heavy as hell, doomy and sweeping…Agonist is a magnificent work” – Phantom 105.2 FM

“…dark, dreamy, beautiful and monumentally heavy” - 13/13 Roomthirteen.com

COLLUSION~ (www.myspace.com/collusion6
66)
Not to be missed, Collusion are helmed by former The Ocean vocalist Mike Pilat. With skull-shattering depth and rough doomy tones, they’re technical prog-metal at its very best and one of the most atmospheric live bands on the Northern circuit.

BAST~ (www.myspace.com/basttheband)
Having kicked up a storm at our October launch, London’s Bast return with more brutal ambient metal and an intense live performance.

Again, we’ll be taking over Satans Hollow in Manchester. Free entry to the Spitfire clubnight (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=120923997920301) is included for you scallies who come down, so stick around for an awesome night, we certainly will.

~ Entry is £5.00 advance, tickets will soon be available from Obscure Clothing, Affleck’s Palace

Doors are at 7.00pm with music starting shortly after.
Don’t miss this, it’s going to be insane to say the least.
